Skillz Case Study: “Solitaire Cube” Achieves Industry-Leading Retention with Skillz
With a plethora of developers and games in the app store, it becomes difficult to stand out. Tether Studios, a husband and wife studio, was searching for a way to differentiate themselves from the classic solitaire card game.
They turned to Skillz, the leading mobile eSports platform, to enable head-to-head competitions for users in their game, “Solitaire Cube.” They immediately saw an improvement in engagement with their users.
The new competitive functionality that Skillz provides also allowed them to remove ads and in-app purchases, which detracted from the user experience. Soon after the integration, Tether Studios saw record high D1/D7/D30 retention and $0.45 in ARPDAU (average revenue per daily active user) – almost 20x what they had seen before.
