So You Wanna Be an All-Star? Start at Zero, Win Real Cash

If you’ve been competing in games like 21 Blitz, Solitaire Cube, Blackout Bingo, or Dominoes Gold, you’ve probably seen the All-Star League in action. It’s a weekly, opt-in format where everyone starts fresh, and players compete directly for cash rewards without needing to accumulate medals over time just to reach the top league.

If you’re still wondering whether to opt in, or just need a refresher, here’s everything you need to know.

So, What Is the All-Star League?

The All-Star League is a weekly, opt-in leaderboard designed for players who want a more competitive edge. When you join, a small portion of your winnings from cash games goes toward maintaining high-value prize pools ensuring the rewards stay meaningful week after week.

There’s no promotion or demotion here, and everyone who participates wins something. Whether you’re near the top of the leaderboard or just getting started, the All-Star League gives you a consistent, fair way to compete and win every week.

Why Opt In?

Here are a few reasons players choose to join the All-Star League:

Anyone can win

Unlike traditional leagues where your position depends on tier promotions or long medal grinds, the All-Star League gives everyone the same clean slate each week – no carryover, no tier zones, just a straight race to the top.

Weekly resets

The All-Star League resets weekly – just like other Skillz leagues but what makes it different is the equal footing. Everyone starts with zero medals, there are no tiers or zones, and rewards are based purely on performance that week. Whether you’re new or experienced, it’s a clean and fair shot at real prizes.

Bigger prize pools

All-Star Leagues typically have larger prize pools than standard leagues, thanks to contributions from players’ winnings. If you’re in it to compete, there’s real value in joining.

How Contributions Work

When you opt in to the All-Star League, a small percentage of your cash game winnings is automatically contributed to the prize pool.

  • You only contribute when you win
  • If you lose, you pay nothing- but you still earn medals toward your leaderboard position

Example:

You win $100 in a head-to-head match, and the contribution rate is 2% →
You contribute $2 to the All-Star prize pool, and keep $98 for yourself.

Contribution rates are game-specific. As of July 27, 2025, here’s what’s active for the top 5 games:

Game Entry Fee Range Contribution Rate
21 Blitz, Solitaire Cube, Blackout Bingo, Dominoes Gold $0.60 – $120 2% of winnings
What Happens to My Other Leagues?

Good question. Here’s how it works when you opt in:

  • Your current medals in other leagues (like Pro League) are paused
  • You start with zero medals in the All-Star League
  • If you later opt out, your medals from the All-Star League are reset, and your previous league medals are restored

Example:
You have 1,000 medals in Pro League →
You opt into All-Star League and start at 0 →
You opt out later → Your Pro League medal count goes back to 1,000

Important: You can only opt out once per league season and cannot rejoin All-Star until the next season.

Where to Track Your Progress
  • Head to the Leagues tab > All-Star League to see your medal count and ranking
  • Tap the Medal Summary Info icon to view your progress across leagues
  • Check your Account Balance > League Contributions to see how much you’ve contributed to prize pools

Want to Stay in Automatically?

If you don’t want to re-opt every week, there’s an auto-join setting. Just check the box that says “Auto-join all future league seasons” and you’ll be placed in the All-Star League automatically every time a new week begins.

Forgot to Opt In This Week?

No stress, if you skip All-Star League for the week, you’ll still compete in the standard Skillz leagues, which continue to offer prizes based on your performance. You can always opt into the All-Star League the following week and jump back into the action.

Head to the Play tab or Leagues > All-Star and tap “Join Now” to start your next climb.
